Through The Year of Giving program it is our desire that every member, attendee, and visitor experience breakthrough, freedom and transformation in all areas of giving. Through the program individuals will achieve a level of spiritual maturity, develop discipline in their giving, and become lifestyle givers. Each month a new giving theme will be presented to the congregation. Sunday teachings for each month will revolve around the monthly theme. Individuals will have the opportunity to join the giving challenge associated with the monthly theme.
The word giving is defined as “to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; to bestow or lend a hand to someone: to place in someone’s care or to grant permission, opportunity for someone to impart, present or offer”.
Acts 20:35 states, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive” (KJV). As Christians, the concept of giving, and the desire to give should be ingrained into the entire fabric of our being.
As in all instances, there is always an adversary anytime we attempt to grow in the things of Christ . We must engage the adversary as described in John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (KJV) As we participate in the act of giving and attempt to grow into lifestyle givers we must fight against any spiritual strongholds in our lives concerning giving.
As part of The Year of Giving program, each month you will be presented with a giving challenge.
This challenge provides the opportunity to put feet to our faith and action to our words.
At the beginning of each month, there will be giving challenge cards in the foyer.
We want to rejoice with you when your challenge is fulfilled, so please share your testimony with us by any of our social media outlets, or in writing.
